How to import all or part of a Program into another Program

Sometimes you have a specific training session or phase that you like to re-use in one or more training programs, such as a GPP or mobility phase. Winning Strength Blueprint enables you to insert a specific workout, entire day, entire week or even an entire program into another in order to save time.

All of the following options are available in a dropdown menu located on the bottom right of each day when editing the training program.

Import Single Workout

This is the simplest option. This option is useful for example when you want to include a testing session at the end, or start of a program.

Select this option and pick the program to import from, the workout and the week and day in the current program to import to.

Click Save and the workout will be added to the current program on the desired day.

Import Day (all weeks)

This option is useful when you have a favourite exercise and/or set/rep scheme progression you like to re-use over a period of 8 or 12 weeks.

Select this option and pick the program to import from, the day to import from and the day in the current program to import to.

Keep in mind that this option will import all days from the source program into the current program, starting at the selected day. E.g.

Program A, Day 1 with an 8 Week duration. This Program therefore contains Week 1 Day 1, Week 2, Day 1 .... Week 8 Day 1 for a total of 8 Day 1 sessions across 8 Weeks.

If you choose to import Program A into a new Program B Day 1, all 8 days from Program A will be added to Day 1 of Program B.

Note that the current program duration will be expanded to accommodate the additional weeks where required. E.g. if Program B was originally specified to be a 4 week program, it will now have a duration of 8 weeks.

Import Week (all days)

This option is useful when you have a testing week that you want to append to a client's program for a particular sport, e.g. Powerlifting or Strongman.

Select this option and pick the program to import from, the week to import and the week in the current program to import to.

Keep in mind that this option will import all days from the selected week in the source program and place them at the selected week in the current program.

Note that the current program days per week will be expanded to accommodate the additional days where required. E.g. if Program B was originally specified to contain 3 days per week and the source program has 4, it will now contain 4 days per week.

Import Program

This is a more advanced option and should be used with care, simply due to the number of weeks and days that could be created as part of this action.

This option is intended for use with the upcoming Program Builder features such as Norwegian and Conjugate. In these cases for example, you will generate the program in the desired builder but you may wish to add a GPP phase of 2 or more weeks or utilise an alternative protocol in order to provide a training foundation before starting the main program.

Select this option and pick the program to import from, the day to import to and the week to import to. Most of the time you will likely only need to select the week to import to.

Note that the current program days per week and duration will be expanded to accommodate the additional days and weeks where required. Use with caution.

These features are intended to make it even easier for you to re-use protocols that work so your clients can make even more progress in less time.

Happy Programming!
